My name is Péter Bokor, welcome to my website!

I was born in Budapest in 1952. I am married and have two children. My father, Dr. Sándor Bokor, graduated from the Faculty of Architecture in 1949 and obtained a technical doctorate at the Department of Architectural History in the 1980s. My son, Dániel Bokor, has also become an architect.

I graduated with honors in 1970 from the Italian-language department of Berzsenyi Dániel Secondary School, where I was awarded the Berzsenyi Prize.

In 1971, I began my studies at the Faculty of Architecture of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME). During university, I worked as a demonstrator at the Department of Construction. In a library design competition jointly organized by the Faculty and the Council of District XXII, I was awarded second prize. I completed the final semesters with distinction and graduated in 1976, receiving my diploma in 1977. My thesis was awarded a Diploma Prize by the Faculty and the Association of Hungarian Architects.

In 1976, I joined the 21st State Construction Company, initially working as a site engineer, later as a technologist. In 1981, I was appointed plant manager. In 1983, as export became a strategic focus in the construction industry, I was appointed chief engineer of export projects at the newly established export office. I was responsible for managing the company's operations in Algeria and initiating projects in Sofia and Bratislava. For my contributions, I received the "Excellent Young Professional" award in 1980 and the "Excellent Innovator" award in 1979 and 1983.

I was entered into the Register of Private Designers in 1977, and since then, numerous buildings based on my designs have been realized. A row house I lived in between 1985 and 2005 won an award in the "House of the Year – 1986" competition. In 1987, I was certified as a Lead Designer.

Since 1977, I have been a member of the Hungarian Society for Building Science and have participated in many domestic and international conferences (e.g., EUROPREFAB). In 1983, I gave a lecture at an ÉTE conference on new forms of construction enterprises and their emergence in the housing sector. In 1985, I also presented at the Youth Conference on Construction.

I became a member of the Association of Hungarian Architects (now called the Association of Hungarian Architects) in 1980.

In 1981, I was invited by VARHELY ARKITEKTKONTOR AB, a Swedish architecture firm, to work as a designer in Stockholm during a three-month study visit.

In 1985, I was registered as an expert in construction affairs by the Ministry of Construction and Urban Development. This registration was later extended by the Ministry of Industry and Trade as its legal successor.

In 1986, I joined the Technical and Economic Directorate of Cultural Institutions of the Capital City, working as a chief architect consultant. My responsibilities included managing and technically supervising investment and renovation projects for cultural institutions under the Metropolitan Council. For my work, I received a certificate of commendation from Mayor Gábor Demszky.

Since 1990, I have been managing the VILLA INTERNATIONAL architectural design and consulting office.

My design works have been regularly featured in both domestic and international professional publications (e.g.:Új Magyar Építőművészet, Lakáskultúra, Ház és Otthon, Álomház, Műszaki Tervezés, Fürdőszobatippek-Konyhatippek, A Mi Otthonunk, Terasz, Szép Házak, Real Home, Uszadba).

In 1994, I was accepted into both the Hungarian Society for Building Science and the technical expert registry of the Ministry of Justice as a forensic expert.

In 1996, I became a member of the Chamber of Forensic Experts and the Hungarian Chamber of Architects. In 2000, I was added to the technical expert registry of the Hungarian Chamber of Architects. I am currently registered as a forensic architectural expert with both the Hungarian Chamber of Architects and the Ministry of Justice and Law Enforcement. I am regularly appointed by various courts and am also contracted by companies and individuals for private expert assessments. In 2002, I received a construction technical inspector certificate through postgraduate training at the University of Debrecen.

I have intermediate-level state language exams in English and Italian, and have also studied French, Russian, and some Swedish.
